PHN 9735 - 14 - 10.3.1981 ABSTRACT: "Bidirectional information transmission via a long distance video interface (LDVI) cable." Communication in two directions between a main station and a peripheral station of a data processing system via one and the same connection. One of the two communication directions has priority over the other direction. The way in which video pictures are composed is used as the communication means. Data characters are transmitted via the connection (cable) during the period during which no video signal may be present on the connection, i.e. during the blanking of the video picture after the generating of a vertical synchronization pulse.
