The present invention relates to novel bifunctional agents possessing antioxidant and antiarrhytmic activity, methods for the synthesis of the same and their applications in treating ischemia-reperfusion injury, as well as a variety of disorders related to free radicals and/or arrhythmias. These bifunctional drugs should preferentially segregate in the membrane and produce their antiarrhytmic effects while, at the same time, help in protecting the membrane lipids by scavenging free radicals. The present invention comprises compounds represented by Formula (I), wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are further defined.
La présente invention concerne de nouveaux agents bifonctionnels à activité antioxydante et antiarythmique, des méthodes de synthèse de ceux-ci et leurs applications dans le traitement des lésions d'ischémie-reperfusion, ainsi que de divers troubles associés aux radicaux libres et/ou aux arythmies. Ces médicaments bifonctionnels doivent, de préférence, être séparés dans la membrane et produire leurs effets antiarythmiques tout en aidant à protéger les lipides de la membrane en piégeant les radicaux libres. La présente invention comprend des composés représentés par la formule (I), dans laquelle R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 sont tels que définis dans les revendications.
