- 1 - Abstract A translation system for performing a translation from a first language into a second language in an interaction mode between the system and an operator, comprising means for storing words of the second language translated from source words used in a source sentence of the first lan- guage. One of the stored words is selected as a learned word at the time of performing a translation and is dis- played. The machine converts the sentence of the first language into a sentence of the second language using the selected learned word. The system enables improvements in the correctness and the speed of the translation.
