Disclosed is a method of generating a bill image in a computer implemented billing system for a telecommunications network which includes a discount for a customer applied to calls made during a billing period in which a discount scheme applies, the method comprising the steps of loading qualification criteria for the discount scheme and customer account details into the billing system, generating a data structure defining a time line over at least part of which the discount scheme was operative, the time line being divided in dependence on the qualification criteria and customer account details into a number of segments each of which corresponds to a period during which a respective version of the discount scheme was operative, accumulating charges for the calls made during each segment, and calculating an appropriate discount from the accumulated charges for each segment for calls which qualify for a discount under the discount scheme. A corresponding computer implemented billing system is also disclosed and claimed.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de générer une image de facture dans un système de facturation informatisé destiné à un réseau de télécommunications, lequel système prévoit, pour un client, un rabais sur des appels effectués pendant une période de facturation pendant laquelle s'applique un programme de rabais. Ce procédé consiste à charger dans le système de facturation, des conditions prescrites pour le programme de rabais et des renseignements destinés au compte du client, à générer une structure de données définissant un horaire pendant lequel le programme de rabais est appliqué, cet horaire étant divisé, en fonction des conditions prescrites et des renseignements destinés au compte du client, en un certain nombre de segments correspondant chacun à une période pendant laquelle une version du programme de rabais a été appliquée, à accumuler des frais pour les appels effectués pendant chaque segment, enfin à calculer un rabais approprié, à partir des frais accumulés pendant chaque segment, pour des appels réunissant les conditions prescrites pour un rabais compris dans le programme de rabais. L'invention concerne également un système de facturation informatisé associé à ce procédé.
