The invention provides bimodal emulsions of a taxane and a butyrate polyalcohol ester, and methods for using such emulsions, for the treatment of hyperproliferative disease such as cancer. The emulsions are stabilized by the presence of an Ostwald ripening stabilizer, which reduces Ostwald ripening of the emulsions.
