The problem associated with "cupboard hidden" bins is that they have always been small, because the cupboard that the bin is fitted to is either not solely dedicated to the bin or the lid open-closure mechanism has relied on a flip-top opening mechanism. To produce a larger bin, and solve this problem, there is provided a bin comprising a lid and a number of containers, their arrangement being such that they are able to move relative to each other within substantially the same plane and wherein a running clearance tolerance exists between the lid and the or each container that is such that when the bin moves from an open to a closed position the lid and a mouth of the of the or each container merge into substantially sealing contact with each other.
