ABSTRACT Code conversion apparatus is provided especially for controlling energisation of wires of a coded electro- pneumatic brake system, for converting into a binary coded output an input which is of a binary code form wherein a step from one value to the next is always accompanied by a change of only one digit, the apparatus comprising means for operating a number of individual switch devices the state of only one of which is changed for each such step and the switch devices being inter- connected to provide selective energisation of a plurality of outputs from a source in accordance with a pure binary code.
