ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention discloses a novel construction for the locking mechanism used in conjunction with conventional ledger binder books. The frame for use with the binder assembly comprises an open tubular, main frame, an actuator plate within the main frame, and at least one locking plate releasably secured to the main frame. The locking plate is adapted to be moved from an unlocked position to a locked position or vice-versa in response to movement by the actuator plate. This construction is particularly suitable for use with a plurality of different locking systems for the ledger binder and as a result, has allowed different binders to be produced which all can use the same mechanism thereby significantly reducing the costs thereof.
