Ces avantages sont qu'il simplifie la transport de l'étui et du cartable, les deux ne faisant plus qu'un. Il évite aussi la perte de l'étui a crayon ou l'oubli de ce dernier du fait qu'il est attaché avec un velcro qui le garde unifié au cartable mais qui lui permet d'être interchangé sur un autre cartable au besoin.
