ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A binder composition for paper-coating materials having excellent binder performance is disclosed, which comprises an aqueous solution of one or more water- soluble copolymers of (A) 50 to 95 wt% of acryl- or methacrylamide and (B) 5 to 50 wt% of at least one acrylic- or methacrylic acid derivative such as alkyl or hydroxyalkyl esters, N-methylolamides and nitriles.
