BINDER FOR METAL-CONTAINING ORES Abstract of the Disclosure A binder composition useful for agglomerating an ore in the presence of water, that contains about 10% to about 90% of a water-soluble cellulose derivative and about 5% to about 90% of sodium tripolyphosphate or tetrasodium pyrophosphate, and a process for agglomerating an ore comprising mixing the above binder composition containing a water-soluble cellulose derivative, water, and the ore, agglomerating the mixture into wet balls, drying the wet balls, and heating the resultant dry balls at a temperature of at least about 1204°C.
