20086-2083 ABSTRACT A composition which comprises at least one powdered or flaked material admixed with at least one thermally depolymeri- sable polycarbonate, or a solution thereof, the thermally depolymerisable polycarbonate containing the repeating units Image where R1 and R2 each independently represents a hydrocarbon group containing from 4 to 30 carbon atoms, the said group having a group selected from a tertiary carbon atom, an allylic group, a propargylic group and a benzylic group attached directly to at least one oxygen atom. The thermally depolymerisable polycarbonate can be used as a binder for materials such as powdered glass, powdered ceramic material, powdered metal or alloy.
