A bio-based polyethylene terephthalate polymer comprising from about 25 to about 75 weight percent of a terephthalate component and from about 20 to about 50 weight percent of a diol component, wherein at least about one weight percent of at least one of the terephthalate and/or the diol component is derived from at least one bio-based material. A method of producing a bio-based polyethylene terephthalate polymer comprising obtaining a diol component comprising ethylene glycol, obtaining a terephthalate component comprising terephthalic acid, wherein at least one of the diol component and/or the diol component is derived from at least one bio -based material, and reacting the diol component and the terephthalate component to form a bio-based polyethylene terephthalate polymer comprising from about 25 to about 75 weight percent of the terephthalate component and from about 20 to about 50 weight percent of the diol component.
La présente invention concerne un polymère de polyéthylène téréphtalate dorigine biologique comportant environ 25 à environ 75% en poids dun constituant téréphtalate et environ 20 à 50% en poids dun constituant diol, au moins un pourcentage pondérale dau moins un parmi le constituant téréphtalate et/ou le constituant diol étant dérivé dau moins un matériau dorigine biologique. Linvention concerne également un procédé de production dun polymère de polyéthylène téréphtalate dorigine biologique comprenant lobtention dun constituant diol comprenant de léthylène glycol, lobtention dun constituant téréphtalate comprenant de lacide téréphtalique, au moins un au moins un pourcentage pondéral dau moins un parmi le constituant téréphtalate et/ou le constituant diol étant dérivé dau moins un matériau dorigine biologique, et la réaction du constituant diol et du constituant téréphtalate pour former un polymère de polyéthylène téréphtalate dorigine biologique comportant environ 25 à environ 75% en poids du constituant téréphtalate et environ 20 à 50% en poids du constituant diol.
