A method of manufacture of an orthotic and an orthotic made from the method wherein the orthotic is moulded from a positive cast (12) made of a foot in a normal weight bearing position (8) and the angles of the underside of the orthotic (13, 14) are adjusted to compensate for musculo-skeletal misalignments in the lower body. The orthotic is preferably formed from a closed cell, high density synthetic rubber material.

Procédé de fabrication d'une orthèse et orthèse fabriquée à partir de ce procédé, lequel consiste à mouler l'orthèse à partir d'un moulage positif (12) d'un pied se trouvant dans une position (8) normale de support du corps, et à régler les angles du côté inférieur de l'orthèse (13, 14) pour compenser le déséquilibre postural et musculaire des membres inférieurs. De préférence, on forme cette orthèse à partir d'un matériau à base de caoutchouc synthétique haute densité, à cellules fermées.
