The invention relates to a bio-thermal method of stabilising a load of wood, such as timber, comprising the following steps: generation of a treat gas stream (GT) at a high temperature from thermal generation means (2), treatment of the load of wood with the treat gas stream (GT), and recovery of the laden gas stream (GC) after treatment. The treat gas (GT) is preferably carbon dioxide which can be obtained from an energy cogeneration system.

Le gaz de traitement (GT) est de préférence du dioxyde de carbone qui peut être obtenu à partir d'un système de cogénération d'énergie.
