A liquid composition for adherence to a bodily surface, notably to a bodily surface, especially a mucosal surface, comprises water-swellable polymer particles suspended in a water-miscible liquid diluent, wherein the liquid diluent is substantially free of water or includes an amount of water insufficient to fully swell the polymer particles. On admixture with water the composition thickens and becomes more adherent to surfaces. Thus the composition may be easy to administer but may become thick and adherent at the treatment site.
L'invention concerne une composition liquide destinée à adhérer sur une surface corporelle, en particulier sur une surface de muqueuse. Cette composition contient des particules polymères gonflant au contact de l'eau, en suspension dans un diluant liquide miscible avec l'eau, le diluant liquide étant sensiblement exempt d'eau ou contenant une quantité d'eau insuffisante pour provoquer le gonflement des particules polymères. Lorsqu'elle est mélangée avec de l'eau, cette composition épaissit et son adhérence aux surfaces augmente. Cette composition est par conséquent facile à administrer, mais peut devenir épaisse et adhérente sur le site de traitement.
