The present invention is directed to a method for the biocontrol of a weed plant comprising administering a biocontrol agent to the weed plant. Preferably, the biocontrol agent is Plectosporium. tabacinum, and the weed plant is false cleavers. The biocontrol agent is effective against either herbicide tolerant and herbicide-intolerant false cleavers, and it may be used in conjunction with a herbicide.
