A polymer with a hydrolytically la-bile backbone and having structure (VIII) wherein R9 is an alkyl, aryl or alkylaryl group with up to 18 carbon atoms having a pendent carboxylic acid group or the benzyl ester thereof; R12 is an alkyl, aryl or alkylaryl group with up to 18 carbon atoms having a pendent carboxylic acid ester group selected from straight and branched alkyl and alkylaryl esters con-taining up to 18 carbon atoms and ester derivatives of biologically and pharma-ceutically active compounds covalently bonded thereto, provided that the ester group is not a benzyl group or a group that is removed by hydrogenolysis; each R7 is independently an alkylene group containing up to four carbon atoms; A is selected from: (a) and (b) wherein R8 is selected from saturated and unsaturated, substituted and unsubstituted alkyl, aryl and alkylaryl groups containing up to 18 carbon atoms; k is between about 5 and about 3,000; and x and f independently range from zero to less than one.
L'invention concerne un polymère à squelette labile hydrolytique et présentant la structure (VIII) dans laquelle R9 désigne un groupe alkyle, aryle ou alkylaryle renfermant jusqu'à 18 atomes de carbone présentant un groupe acide carboxylique pendant ou son ester benzyle; R12 désigne un groupe alkyle, aryle ou alkylaryle renfermant jusqu'à 18 atomes de carbone présentant un groupe acide carboxylique pendant sélectionné dans des esters droits et ramifiés d'alkyle et d'alkylaryle renfermant jusqu'à 18 atomes de carbone et des dérivés d'ester de composés biologiquement et pharmaceutiquement actifs liés de manière covalente, à condition que le groupe ester ne soit pas un groupe benzyle ou un groupe éliminé par hydrogénolyse; chaque R7 désigne indépendamment un groupe alkylène renfermant jusqu'à quatre atomes de carbone; A est sélectionné dans; (a) et (b) où R8 est sélectionné dans des groupes alkyle, aryle et alkylaryle saturés et insaturés, substitués et non substitués renfermant jusqu'à 18 atomes de carbone; k désigne une valeur comprise entre 5 et 3000; et x et f désignent indépendamment une valeur comprise entre 0 et moins que 1.
