A tissue marker formed of a biodegradable polymer having drug-delivery capabilities is combined with a sealant that encapsulates the tissue marker and which serves to help anchor the tissue marker against migration. The sealant is delivered to a site in dehydrated form and moisture inherent in tissue at the site expands the sealant. The expanded sealant is formed of a hydrogel and is therefore more compatible to the surrounding tissue than the material of the tissue marker. The sealant and the tissue marker are both bioabsorbed over time.

L'invention concerne un marqueur de tissu obtenu à partir d'un polymère biodégradable ayant des capacités d'administration de médicaments que l'on combine avec un agent d'étanchéité encapsulant le marqueur de tissu et servant à ancrer ledit marqueur de tissu pour éviter la migration. L'agent d'étanchéité est administré sur un site sous forme déshydratée et l'humidité inhérente au tissu sur le site permet d'étendre l'agent d'étanchéité. Ce dernier, une fois étendu, est obtenu à partir d'un hydrogel et s'avère, par conséquent, plus compatible au tissu entourant que la substance du marqueur de tissu. L'agent d'étanchéité et le marqueur de tissu sont tous deux bio-absorbés dans le temps.
