The present invention relates generally to a composition and method for decreasing the emissions from combustion of fuel that contains biodiesel, where the composition contains at least one ignition accelerator and at least one plant extract or synthetic component similar to a portion of a plant extract. The ignition accelerator is preferably a peroxide, for example, di- tert-butyl peroxide. The composition may optionally contain meadowfoam oil or jojoba oil. The composition may also enhance the lubricity of the fuel that contains biodiesel.

La présente invention concerne de manière générale une composition et un procédé destiné à diminuer les émissions issues de la combustion de combustible contenant du biodiesel, ladite composition contenant au moins un accélérateur d'allumage et au moins un extrait végétal ou un composant synthétique similaire à une partie d'un extrait végétal. L'accélérateur d'allumage est de préférence un peroxyde, par exemple un di-tert-butyl peroxyde. La composition peut éventuellement contenir une huile de perles de prairie ou une huile de jojoba. La composition peut également améliorer l'onctuosité du combustible contenant le biodiesel.
