Cultured tissue constructs comprising cultured cells and endogenously produced extracellular matrix components without the requirement of exogenous matrix components or network support or scaffold members. Some tissue constructs of the invention are comprised of multiple cell layers or more than one cell type. The tissue constructs of the invention have morphological features and functions similar to tissues and their strength makes them easily handleable. Preferred cultured tissue constructs of the invention are prepared in defined media, that is, without the addition of chemically undefined components.
L'invention concerne des constructions tissulaires cultivées comprenant des cellules cultivées et des composants de matrice extracellulaires produits de manière endogène sans avoir recours à des composants de matrice exogènes ou à un support réseau ou à des éléments d'échafaudage. Certaines constructions tissulaires selon l'invention se composent de multiples couches cellulaires ou de plus d'un type de cellule. Les constructions tissulaires selon l'invention présentent des caractéristiques et des fonctions morphologiques semblables à celles de tissus et leur résistance les rend facilement maniables. De préférence, on prépare les constructions tissulaires cultivées selon l'invention dans des supports déterminés, c'est-à-dire, sans ajouter des composants non définis chimiquement.
