The present invention provides novel compositions comprising: (a) protamine sulfate and (b) benzalkonium chloride or a silver containing particle; and (a) sodium metaperiodate and (b) 5- fluorouracil or chlorhexidine and uses thereof for the preparation of devices, and in particular medical devices, susceptible to colonization by biofilm forming bacteria.
