A biological fluid processing or fluid filtration system is provided having novel open and closed loop processing systems (44) wherein the gases transferred into and out of the system (55) during processing pass through a porous medium (67) in upstream and/or downstream gas inlet or outlet housings or vents (64, 71) in a manner which precludes the fluid being processed or filtered from ever contacting the housings or vents (64, 71). Each housing or vent (64, 71) is separated from the fluid by a column of gas in its respective transfer line (50, 54). The upstream gas inlet housing or vent (64) is in communication with the unfiltered biological fluid, and the downstream gas inlet housing or vent (71) is in communication with the filtered biological fluid.

L'invention concerne un système de traitement ou de filtration d'un fluide biologique, comprenant de nouveaux dispositifs de traitement en boucles ouverte et fermée (44), les gaz transférés à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur dudit système (55) en cours de traitement étant amenés à traverser un milieu poreux (67), en amont et/ou en aval de récipients ou d'évents (64, 71) à orifices d'entrée ou de sortie de gaz. Le fluide traité ou filtré n'entre donc jamais en contact avec ces récipients ou avec ces évents (64, 71), chaque récipient ou évent (64, 71) étant séparé de ce fluide par une colonne de gaz dans chaque ligne de transfert respective (50, 54). Le récipient ou l'évent (64) à orifices d'entrée de gaz situé en amont communique avec le fluide biologique non filtré, le récipient ou l'évent (71) à orifices d'entrée de gaz placé en aval communiquant avec ce fluide biologique une fois filtré.
