In the embodiments of the invention described in the specification, an arrangement for biological treatment of wastewater includes a basin (10) with an aeration region (18) and a clarification region (20) separated by a movable wall (16) having a passage (26) between the bottom of the wall and the bottom of the basin. The aeration region (18) includes a plurality of diffuser arrangements (36) for aerating the wastewater and the clarification region (20) includes a sludge removal duct (52) and at least one turbulence generator (72) for periodically stirring up sludge particles which have been deposited on surfaces of the clarification region (20) remote from the sludge removal duct (52) and recirculating sludge through the the wall passage (26) to the aeration region (18) and permitting sludge to resettle on surfaces closer to the sludge removal duct (50). The movable wall (16) may be positioned to include one or more diffuser arrangements (30) from the aeration region (18) whithin the clarification region (20).

Cette invention se rapporte à un dispositif de traitement biologique des eaux usées comportant un bassin (10) doté d'une zone d'aération (18) et d'une zone de clarification (20) séparées par une paroi mobile (16) munie d'un passage (26) disposé entre le fond de la paroi et le fond du bassin. La zone d'aération (18) comporte une pluralité de dispositifs diffuseurs (36) conçus pour aérer les eaux usées et la zone de clarification (20) comporte un conduit (52) d'évacuation de la boue et au moins un générateur de turbulence (72) conçu pour périodiquement mettre en suspension les particules de boue qui se sont déposées sur les surfaces de la zone de clarification (20) à distance du conduit (52) d'évacuation de la boue, pour renvoyer la boue à travers le passage de la paroi (26) vers la zone d'aération (18), et pour laisser la boue se déposer à nouveau sur les surfaces les plus proches du conduit d'évacuation (50). La paroi mobile (16) peut être positionnée de manière à incorporer un ou plusieurs dispositifs diffuseurs (30) de la zone d'aération (18) au sein de la zone de clarification (20).
