108 ABSTRACT BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE AMIDE DERIVATIVES Compounds of formula : Image wherein R1 is optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, benzyl, heterocyclylmethyl, aryl or heterocyclyl; R2 is hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, benzyl or heterocyclyl-methyl, X is O, S or NH; R3 is optionally substituted alkyl or alkenyl when X is O or S, or is acyl when X is NH; and E is CN, CONH2, CSNH2 or CONR4R5 wherein each of R4 and R5 is hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl or alkenyl. The compounds are useful as herbicides and fungicides.
