ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a novel compound that exhibits inhibitory activity against prolyl endopeptidase and a method for making same. The compound is represented by the general formula: (I) Image wherein n is 1 to 4 and R is a lower alkyl ester group, -CH2OH or an aldehyde group. The compound is useful as a prolyl endopeptidase inhibitor and an anti-amnesic agent and also demonstrates satisfactory low toxicity levels.
