BIOMASS GASIFICATION Abstract Of The Disclosure For energy saving purposes, in the con- tinuous, rapid and practical conversion of abundantly available biomass materials, otherwise wasted need- lessly, into high quality, combustible gas, uni- versally acceptable for use in industry and for many other purposes, an improved gasifier and con version process utilizes a conversion kinetic sys- tem of constantly rotated, continuously rolling, joggled, high temperature balls to break up the char-bed supported thereby into hot, charcoal par- ticles, causing them to filter downwardly into the ball layer for further, live reaction therein. The small amount of remaining ash is pulled through a rotating. perforated platform for supporting the ball layer as the gas is withdrawn from be- neath the platform by a downdraft, negative pres- sure system which evenly dispenses an adequate supply of reaction-supporting fluid within and throughtout both the stirred, non-rotating char- bed itself and the underlying charcoal particle being further reduced in size by the action of the agitated balls which constantly and vigorously roil the charred materials.
