A biopsy device includes a probe assembly and a driver unit. The probe assembly includes a first cannula having a first aperture extending to a lumen proximal to a first distal end of the first cannula. A second cannula has a second aperture extending to a lumen proximal to the second distal end of the second cannula. The second cannula is disposed co- axially with the first cannula. A least one of the first aperture and the second aperture has a cutting edge. The driver unit is configured for releasably mounting the probe assembly. The driver unit is operatively configured to simultaneously rotate the first cannula and the second cannula at different rotational velocities so that the first aperture and the second aperture periodically come into alignment to form a virtual tissue sample aperture.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif de biopsie comprenant un ensemble sonde et une unité d'entraînement. L'ensemble sonde comprend une première canule comportant une première ouverture s'étendant vers une lumière proximale à une première extrémité distale de la première canule. Une seconde canule comporte une seconde ouverture s'étendant vers une lumière proximale à la seconde extrémité distale de la seconde canule. La seconde canule est disposée de manière coaxiale à la première canule. Au moins l'une de la première ouverture et de la seconde ouverture comporte un bord de découpe. L'unité d'entraînement est configurée pour un montage libérable de l'ensemble sonde. L'unité d'entraînement est opérationnellement configurée pour faire tourner simultanément la première canule et la seconde canule à des vitesses de rotation différentes de telle sorte que la première ouverture et la seconde ouverture viennent périodiquement en alignement pour former une ouverture virtuelle d'échantillon de tissu.
