ABSTRACT A biosensor with a selective detection system consisting of a polymer and a biochemical substance, particularly an enzyme, is characterized by a detection system produced in the following manner: - An olefinic-unsaturated, epoxyfunctional polyether is applied to a carrier material in the form of a layer, - the polyether is cross-linked to form a large-mesh epoxyfunctional polymer matrix by means of high-energy radiation, - the layer is treated with an aqueous solution of the biochemical substance, whereby the biochemical substance is immobilized in the polymer matrix by reaction with epoxy groups, - the layer is stabilized by reaction of non-converted epoxy groups with a compound containing amino and/or carboxyl groups.
