A test strip or biosensor comprising a base substrate on which an electrode system is formed. One or more laminate layers overlie the base substrate to form a sample-receiving chamber in which a reagent is deposited. An opening is provided from the sample-receiving chamber to the exterior of the biosensor. The layers and the base substrate are laser welded to secure the biosensor. One of the layer and base substrate is light transmissive to allow laser welding at the interface therebetween. The biosensor may be formed from a series of continuous webs that are subsequently sliced to form individual biosensors.
L'invention concerne une bandelette réactive ou un biodétecteur comprenant un substrat de base sur lequel est formé un système d'électrode. Une ou plusieurs couches stratifiées recouvrent le substrat de base pour former une chambre de réception d'échantillon dans laquelle est déposé un réactif. Une ouverture est prévue de la chambre de réception d'échantillon à l'extérieur du biodétecteur. Les couches et le substrat de base sont soudés au laser pour fixer le biodétecteur. La couche ou le substrat de base transmet la lumière pour permettre d'effectuer un soudage au laser sur l'interface qui les sépare. Le biodétecteur peut être formé par une série de bandes continues ultérieurement découpées en tranches pour former des biodétecteurs individuels.
