A process is disclosed for producing biosorbents by phosphorylation of cellulose-containing materials with phosphoric acid or ammonium phosphate in the presence of urea. Also disclosed are biosorbents with particular good use properties. Biosorbents of this type are used, in particular, for removing heavy metals from aqueous solutions. Proceeding from the disadvantages of the known prior art, purification costs of resultant raw products should be lowered and the formation of unwanted soluble organic polymer phosphates as by- products should be prevented. The biosorbents should have an improved mechanical strength and very good use properties. The disclosed biosorbents contain 5-10 % phosphorus and 1-4 % nitrogen in the form of carbamide groups. The synthesis mixture is mixed with elementary sulphur before starting the reaction in order to produce biosorbents with an increased mechanical strength. The proposed procedure allows reducing the otherwise customary reaction temperatures by about 40 ~C.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour la production de biosorbants par phosphorylation de matières cellulosiques avec de l'acide phosphorique ou du phosphate d'ammonium en présence d'urée. L'invention concerne également des biosorbants présentant d'excellentes propriétés d'utilisation. On utilise, en particulier, des biosorbants de ce type pour éliminer des métaux lourds de solutions aqueuses. Partant des inconvénients de l'état connu de la technique, il s'agit de diminuer les coûts de nettoyage pour les produits bruts obtenus et d'empêcher la formation de phosphates polymères organiques solubles indésirables comme produits secondaires. Les biosorbants doivent présenter une résistance mécanique améliorée et de très bonnes propriétés d'utilisation. A cet effet, les biosorbants selon l'invention présentent une teneur en phosphore comprise entre 5 et 10 % et une teneur en azote comprise entre 1 et 4 %, l'azote étant présent sous forme de groupes carbamide. Pour produire des biosorbants à résistance mécanique améliorée, on mélange le mélange de synthèse à du soufre élémentaire avant le début de la réaction. Le procédé proposé permet de réduire les températures de réaction normales d'environ 40 ·C.
