The invention concerns a bipolar electrode for batteries with alkaline electrolyte, comprising a conductive screen (17), a three-dimensional collector (20) comprising protuberances (23i), plated on each side of the conductive screen (17), and active substance filling the collectors (20) to form the positive and negative electrodes respectively. The invention is characterised in that at least one of the faces of the conductive screen (17) is grooved (18i), and the three-dimensional collectors (20) are glued on the conductive screen (17) with a non-conductive glue (22) stable in the presence of a highly alkaline electrolyte and are in direct contact with the external faces of the conductive screen (17) via the protuberances (23i) of the three-dimensional collectors (20).
