ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A cell frame for a bipolar electrolytic filter press cell includes an electrolysis-associated lower section and a gas disengagement upper section. A panel or pressure bar extends across the cell frame immediately above the lower section to segregate anolyte from catholyte and to promote disengagement of the gases. The frame, also, includes segregated compartments in the upper section for collection of the gases evolved by the electrolysis of the electrolytic solution.
