A bird feeder device comprises a food container for storing a seed or other food, a removable cover, a feeding platform for securely mounting the food container, a transparent globe, and a figurine in the shape of a squirrel or like ground animal. The transparent globe has a diameter sufficiently large in order to prevent a squirrel or like ground animal from gaining access to the seed or other food on the feeding platform. The transparent globe projects an appearance to an observer that the bird feeder device is floating in the air. The figurine projects an appearance to an observer that a squirrel or like ground animal is trapped inside the transparent globe. The feeding platform may comprise a plurality of concentric perching rings so that a small bird, a medium bird and a large bird can simultaneously perch on the concentric perching rings comfortably. This invention relates to bird feeders, and the principal use of the invention is for dispensing a seed or other food to birds.
