A dual component chlorhexidine dentifrice composition in which the first component contains a bis-biguanide antibacterial agent and the second component contains an abrasive incompatible with the bis-biguanide, wherein maximum antibacterial effect on dental tissue with reduced staining is achieved when the components are physically separated prior to use and are mixed upon application to dental issue.

L'invention concerne une composition de dentifrice à la chlorhexidine à deux composants, le premier de ces composants renfermant un agent antibactérien de bis-biguanide, et le second contenant un abrasif incompatible avec le bis-biguanide. Cette composition permet d'obtenir un effet antibactérien maximal sur l'ivoire tout en produisant des dépôts réduits, lesdits composants étant physiquement séparés avant d'être utilisés, puis mélangés au moment de leur application sur l'ivoire.
