A method for delivering a sedation drug comprising administering a drug to a patient while requesting the patient to respond to an instruction, monitoring a patient's BIS values, bringing the patient to a level of anesthesia where the patient fails to respond to the request within a predetermined response time, and determining a BIS value that coincides with the level of anesthesia corresponding to the failure to respond.

L'invention concerne une méthode d'administration d'un médicament sédatif, consistant à administrer un médicament à un patient tout en demandant au patient de répondre à une instruction, à surveiller les valeurs BIS du patient, à anesthésier le patient de manière qu'il ne puisse plus répondre à la demande dans un temps de réponse prédéterminé, et à déterminer une valeur BIS correspondant au niveau d'anesthésie générant l'échec de réponse.
