ABSTRACT BISKETENE DERIVATIVES AND PROCESSES FOR PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF Disclosed herein is a 1,2-bisketene of Formula I Image (I) wherein: R1 is SiR3R4R5; R2 is selected from the group comprising SiR3R4R5, hydrogen, methyl, a C2-20 linear or branched alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6-20 aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C5-20 cycloalkyl group and a halogen; and each of R3, R4 and R5 are the same or different and are selected from the group comprising hydrogen, methyl, a C2-20 linear or branched alkyl group, a C6-20 aryl group, a C7-20 aralkyl group and a C5-20 cycloalkyl group. Also disclosed is a process for producing a 1,2-bisketene of Formula I. -39-
