ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bit with a replaceable tip is described which includes a spiral-form body having a longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end. The first end is adapted for attachment to a rotary drill. A first engagement projection extend transversely across the second end of the spiral-form body. A tip body is provided having a longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end. The first end is adapted to mate with the second end of the spiral-form body such that the longitudinal axis of the tip body is axially aligned with the longitudinal axis of the spiral-form body. A second engagement projection extends transversely across the first end of the tip body. The second engagement projection is adapted to engage the first engagement projection thereby non-rotatably coupling the tip body with the spiral form body. The first engagement projection and the second engagement projection are clamped together in an engaged position by rotatable fasteners.
