A clamp is provided. The clamp comprises a body and a tension member that is disposed within the body. The tension member comprises a member clamp end that defines a first clamp face. The clamp also comprises a body clamp end positioned on the body. The body clamp end defines a second clamp face that is spaced in relation to the first clamp face so as to define a clamp opening therebetween. The first and second clamp faces are configured to engage an item to be clamped. The tension member is extendable from the body by a degree sufficient to vary the spacing between the first and second clamp faces so as to accommodate the size of the item to be clamped. The remainder of the member not required for clamping remains disposed with the body. The clamp further comprises tension means positioned in relation to the tension member, which in turn comprise engaging means for engaging the tension means and applying a tensile force to the tension member. The tensile force is translated via the clamp ends as a compressive force on the item being clamped.
