ABSTRACT A process for preparing chemically coupled products, comprising reacting the composition, comprising a mixture of a bitumen having attached to at least a part thereof carboxylic acid groups and/or anhydride groups and/or groups derived therefrom and a (co)polymer also having attached thereto such groups, with a metal compound capable of forming ionic groups with the groups of the mixture, the metal compound being in the form of a mineral aggregate or filler. The products are particularly suitable for road surfacing.
