ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bituminous binder which contains at least one silane selected from bis-(3-[ triethoxysilyl]-propyl) tetra (sulphane, bis-(3-[triethoxysilyl-]-propyl) di (sulphane) shows an excellent improvement in its adhesion. The silane-containing bituminous binder is produced by heating the bituminous binder to a tempera- ture of 120 to 130°C and by stirring in the silane. The bituminous binder can be used for producing road surfaces, factory floors, plaster floors, protective coatings for buildings, roof coating materials, courses of roofing felt, protective undercoatings for motor and rail vehicles, sheathing compounds for cables, etc.
