ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel electrostatographic developer is provided which comprises a carbon black pigment, a polyvinylbutyral resin, and a styrene alkylmethacrylate copolymer as the toner material and a carrier which is selected from magnetic steel, iron, nickel, or ferrite surrounded by a solid outer layer of methylterpolymer resin. This specific black developer is found to perform extremely well in color electrophotographic imaging processes. Various development processes employing this developer are also disclosed.
