A nutraceutical composition containing 0.01-99% by weight polysaccharides enriched from an extract of beans of Glycine max(L.)Merr. Also disclosed are a method of enriching polysaccharides from pulverized beans of Glycine max (L.)Merr.; a polysaccharide having a backbone of .alpha.-(1,6)-linked glucose residues, and one or more galactose or mannose residues are bonded to the C-3 or C-4 position of one or more of the glucose residues by a (1,3)- or a (1,4)- linkage; and a method of treating a subject with such polysaccharides to increase blood cell counts.

L'invention concerne une composition nutraceutique contenant de 0,01 à 99 % en poids de polysaccharides enrichis d'extraits de fèves de Glycine max (L.) Merr. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'enrichir des polysaccharides à partir de fèves pulvérisées de Glycine max (L.) Merr.; un polysaccharide comportant un squelette de .alpha.-(1,6)-résidus glucose liés, au moins un résidu galactose ou mannose étant lié au site C-3 ou C-4 d'au moins un résidu glucose par une liaison (1,3)- ou (1,4)-; et une méthode de traitement d'un sujet au moyen desdits polysaccharides, ladite méthode permettant d'augmenter la numération globulaire.
