Insertion apparatus for a female bladder control device including an outer tube (12) for insertion into the urethra of a patient, the outer tube (12) having an inner lumen and a retention collar (14) for limiting the depth of insertion of the outer tube (12). A dilator probe (11) with a tapered end, the probe (11) sized for slidable movement into the outer tube (12) and the probe (11) having stop means (17) engageable by the first tube to limit the depth of insertion of the probe tapered end into the urethra. An applicator tube sized for slidable positioning within the outer tube (12) and having an inner lumen for removably carrying a bladder control device (28) for placement within the lumen. Also provided is an insertion device for moving the bladder control device (28) into the second tube. The preferred embodiment described in this disclosure includes a spring-type retaining device mounted on one end of the placed bladder control device (28) and an additional retainer on the other end for retaining the placed bladder control device (28) within the urethra.

Cette invention concerne un appareil servant à insérer chez une femme un dispositif de régulation de la vessie. Cet appareil comporte un tube externe (12) qui doit être inséré à l'intérieur de l'urètre d'une patiente et dont la lumière interne et une bague de retenue (14) permettent de limiter la profondeur d'insertion du tube externe (12). L'invention concerne également une sonde dilatatrice (11) à bout effilé dimensionnée pour pouvoir glisser à l'intérieur du tube externe (12), ladite sonde (11) étant pourvue d'un organe d'arrêt (17) à l'intérieur duquel peut être introduit le premier tube de façon à limiter la profondeur d'insertion de l'extrémité effilée de la sonde à l'intérieur de l'urètre. L'invention concerne par ailleurs un tube applicateur (12) dimensionné de façon à pouvoir être positionné par glissement à l'intérieur du tube externe (12) et dont la lumière interne permet de porter de manière amovible le dispositif de régulation (28) de la vessie qui doit être placé à l'intérieur du second tube. La réalisation préférée de l'invention comporte un dispositif de maintien de type ressort fixé à une extrémité du dispositif de régulation (28) de la vessie en place ainsi qu'un dispositif de maintien supplémentaire au niveau de l'autre extrémité qui permet de maintenir le dispositif de régulation (28) de la vessie en place à l'intérieur de l'urètre.
