A blade protector for an ice skate comprising a hollow body formed of flexible material suitable for fitting over the blade of a skate, the material having inner and outer layers joined by seams along upper edges of the body which define a channel adjacent the upper edges for an elastic cord capable of holding the upper edges in position around a skate blade. The material has a flexibility which allows the protector to be folded and to be everted, and one end of the protector has a pull tab or loop allowing a user to stretch the upper edges around a skate blade. The pull tab or loop is joined to the protector at the upper edges so as to be equally accessible before and after aversion of the protector.
