A tape dispenser (2) that reduces accidental injury from contact with a sharp blade (5) used to cut and separate tape (6) from the dispenser when affixing the tape to a surface (3). The cutting blade, fixed at an angle some distance above an opening (4), or above the edge (9) of a flexible plate (1), is not exposed unless enough pressure is applied to bend plate (1) far enough to expose the blade (5) through and beyond the flexible plate (1). This invention provides a simpler, safer, more cost effective method of dispensing, affixing and cutting any material in tape form.

Cette invention concerne un protège-lame (2) qui réduit les risques d'accident par contact avec une lame affûtée (5) servant à couper un morceau de ruban adhésif (6) et à le séparer du dévidoir pour le fixer sur une surface (3). La lame de coupe, qui est fixée de biais à une certaine distance au-dessus d'une ouverture (4) ou au-dessus (9) d'une plaque souple (1), n'est pas exposée tant qu'une pression n'est pas appliquée pour faire plier (1) suffisamment une plaque (5) et exposer la lame au travers et au delà de la plaque flexible (1). On dispose ainsi d'une méthode plus simple, plus sure et plus économique permettant de dévider, d'apposer et de couper tout matériau en ruban.
