The pump blade is mounted in a generally vertical slot across the core such that the rotation of the core causes the blade to sweep the offset periphery wall of the chamber, the blade being slideable within the slot in the core so as to vary the amount of blade projecting outwardly form each side of the slot in accordance with the length required for engagement with the surface of the chamber. The pump further includes an inlet and an outlet for substances being pumped.
