A wear resistant blade for working a road or other surface. The blade is to be mounted on a moldboard of a vehicle, and has a generally rectangular body and generally parallel top and bottom edges. A plurality of wear resistant elements are mounted in mounting grooves along both top and bottom edges to form wear resistant edges along both the top and bottom edges. The blade includes mounting apertures to mount the blade onto the moldboard of the vehicle. The blade can be alternately mounted to the moldboard in a first position in which the top edge having a wear resistance edge is in running contact with the surface to be worked and becomes the working edge and a second position in which the bottom edge having wear a resistant edge in running contact with the surface to be worked and becomes a working edge. In one embodiment the wear resistant elements may be different along the top and bottom edges.
