A blank for producing a container which contains individual compartments. The object of the invention is to provide a blank from which scrap free production of containers is possible. The blank according to the invention has at least five rectangular plate parts which are joined by parallel longitudinal folding lines. In a finished container, they form bottom, first side wall, second side wall all of the same width, and intermediate plate parts being located between the side walls. In accordance with the invention, each transversely running section (18) on its tow ends within the width of intermediate plate part (3) intersects longitudinally running additional section (17). The two ends of the section are adjoined by a single obliquely running second additional section (19) extending to folding line (7) or (8) which borders intermediate plate part (3). A third transversely running additional section (15) connects, and on its outer end point (15a) coincides with one of the end points of the folding lines (16). The opposite end points (15a) are connected to one another through an additional folding line (20) disposed between them and running parallel to additional sections (17) in plate part (2) or (4) to form hexagonal fields (21).
