A marker (22) for use in a blasting system which includes a harness (12), the marker (22) including a control unit (42), a memory (49) in which information is stored and a connector (56) for connection to a selected location on the harness (12) whereby, upon receipt of an enabling signal via the harness (12) , the information is made available by the control unit (42).
